Bangladesh Railway is  the biggest Enterprise of Bangladesh Govt. Currently almost 40,000 people are working here. Railway connects 46 districts out of 64 of the country, with the current and future projects it will connect more districts.

 

Bangladesh Railway Now operate both Metre and Broad Gauge trains. Current locomotive fleet of Bangladesh Railway has 302 locomotives. Among  them 210-218 unit are usable. Bangladesh Railway ordered 140 New Locomotives in Recent years which will bw introduces to the fleet before 2023. 100 Metre gauge and 40 Broad gauge Locos will give the railway new life and remove the current suffocation of loco shortage.  Now let’s see all Metre Gauge series Locomotive Of Bangladesh Railway :

বাংলাদেশ রেলওয়ে বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশ সরকারের সবথেক বড়  এন্টারপ্রাইজ। প্রায় ৪০,০০০

 মানুষ বর্তমানে এখানে চাকুরি করছে। দেশের ৪৬ টি জেলায় রেল সার্ভিস দিয়ে আসছে এবং

 সামনে আরো জেলা এতে সংযুক্ত হবে।

 

বর্তমানে রেলওয়ে মিটার এবং ব্রোড উভয় গেজের ট্রেনই ব্যবহার করছে। রেলের কাছে

 সর্বমোট ৩০২টি লোকোমোটীভ থাকলেও ব্যবহারযোগ্য মাত্র ২১০-২২০

      2000 series is a diesel hydraulic locomotive series of Bangladesh Railway which was introduced in the 1950's. 40 units were produced and still after almost 70 years 2 is still on service carrying freight trains at Chittagong-Dhaka Route.

2200 series locomotives are the most successful locomotives of Bangladesh Railway . 41 of this EMD locos were introduced in 1962 ,, 22 is still on service.

2500  series is waiting to get retired. Only a few unit's are on Use now. 2700 series got retired in recent years. 

16 units of 2600 series was bought in 1988. Still on service. 

10 units were imported from India in 1996. 5 is on service right now

Total 39 units of 2900 series were introduced to BR from 1999-2013. All of them are on Service 

Newly bought Hyundai Rotem Locomotives 

3000 series will be the future leaded on Bangladeshi Locomotive fleet. 100 units of this series ( EMD GT38ACe) from Hyundai Rotem. 21 has been delivered.
